IKEA Indonesia Inviting Parents and The Kids “Play Freely as You Like” Through The Let’s Play Campaign

Jakarta, November 6th 2021 - IKEA Indonesia initiate the Let’s Play campaign (Let’s Play) titled “Bebas #Mainkan Sesukamu” [in english= Freedom #Play as you like]. Through this campaign IKEA aim to remind that playing is an activity with significant benefits for mental health and also build a more intimate relationship between parents and the children. IKEA Indonesia helding a series of online events, like webminar series
that discussing on interesting topics about parenting and about game playing ideas that available on the IKEA.co.id website. Not only that, there are also in-store activation that is open to be joined by kids and parents. This campaign is started from the November 1st 2021 until December 5th 2021.
“The Let’s Play Campaign is a form of commitment from us to actualize IKEA’s vision which is creating a better daily life for a wide reach of many people. We also believe that childrens are the future pionner, that is why we pay more attention and concern from the beginning,” says the Country Marketing Manager of IKEA Indonesia, Dyah Fitrisally. “This year, the theme that we are raising is ‘Play Freely as You Like’”. We believe that playing is not only beneficial for childrens, but also for parents. A high quality playing time at home will create a stronger bond and intimacy between children and parents. IKEA toys series like, LILLABO, JATTELIK, DJUNGELSKOG, LUSTIGT, and BYGGLEK can complete the playing activities at home,” sumarized by Sally.
The pandemic of Covid-19 has create a serious psychological impact for children and parents because of the mandatory compulsion to stay at home in a quite long period of time, Clinical and Family Psychologist and Founder of @goodenoughparents.id, Pritta Tyas Mangestuti, M.Psi, who is also one of the speakers in the Let's Play IKEA webinar series, said, “Play is the right solution to keep children in a good mood. Parents have an important role to be able to explore varied play ideas to entertain their little ones.” Pritta also added, “I highly recommend parents to join the IKEA Ayo Main campaign series. This activity will provide a lot of new knowledge and informations about the importance of playing. I believe with the right play activities, the relationship between parents and children can also become closer.”
As a form of concern for people affected by Covid-19, IKEA Indonesia also collaborates with a leading humanitarian organization for children, Save The Children in the Smile for Children program. Media & Brand Manager Communication for Save the Children Indonesia, Dewi Sri Sumanah, appreciated IKEA Indonesia's participation, "We are very pleased to know that IKEA Indonesia has participated in providing donations for children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. We believe this program can bring back the smiles of children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, including child survivors, children who have lost their parents, children with disabilities and children from vulnerable families."
IKEA held a program 1 DJUNGELSKOG = 1 EURO to collect donations for the Smile for Children program. “We fully support the Smile for Children program from Save The Children. By every purchase of the DJUNGELSKOG series dolls at all IKEA Indonesia outlets, you have given a donation of 1 Euro for children affected by Covid-19. Therefore, let's take part in bringing back the smiles of Indonesian children," said Sally.
