What we do

Furniture Protection is a home furnishings insurance product in partnership with PasarPolis. With Furniture Protection you can insure your home furniture more affordable and easily because you can apply and make a claim online.

At this time, Furniture Protection service is only available for offline/in-store purchases.

Benefits

With premiums starting from Rp7.500, we will protect your furniture from:

  1. Accidental damage
  2. Damaged during self-product assembling (maximum 40% of the price of object insured)
  3. Water damage
  4. Fire and burglary
  5. Natural disasters

Terms and conditions

The following are the terms and conditions of Movable Property Insurance:
  1. This Movable Property Insurance can indemnify the object insured with a maximum limit of Rp100.000.000 (one hundred million rupiah).
  2. The Movable Property Insurance Policy will be issued by PT Asuransi Astra Buana as the Insurer.
  3. Each claim that has been approved by PT Asuransi Astra Buana will subject to a 5% deduction for own risk per incident of the Claim Value.
  4. All claim payments will be made if the Bank Account Name is the same as the Insured Name listed in the Insurance Policy.
  5. All terms and conditions refer to all provisions contained in the Movable Property Insurance Policy.

Exclusions

The indemnity by this Policy shall not apply to or includes loss, damage or legal liability or indirectly caused by or arising out of:
  1. War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities or warlike operations (whether war be declared or not), locked-out workers, looting, military rising, rebellion, revolution, insurrection or military or usurped power, acts of  terrorism.
  2. Confiscation, commandeering, nationalization, requisition or destruction by order of the government de jure or de facto or any public, municipal or local authority of the country or area in which the property is situated.
  3. Loss or damage, directly or indirectly occasioned by happening through or in consequence of war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities (whether war be declared or not) or any other similar incident.
  4. Loss or damage directly or indirectly occasioned by happening through or in consequence of confiscation, nationalization or requisition or destruction of or damage to property by or under the order of any government of public or local authorities. But this exclusion does not apply to loss or damage caused by or in consequence of measured necessary for extinction of fire or escaping from the danger.
  5. Loss or damage directly or indirectly caused by wear and tear, gradual deterioration of quality of function by use, vermin, rat, its own fermentation, mold, debasement, change of color, rust or corrosion.
  6. Loss  or damage directly or indirectly caused by inherent vice of the subject-matter of insurance other than such loss as caused by inherent vice which could not be found even due carefulness by the person effecting the insurance, the Insured or a person controlling the property on behalf of them.
  7. Loss or damage caused by contributed to by or arising from the radioactivity, explosiveness or other harmful nature of the nuclear fuel (including nuclear fission products)
  8. Loss  or damage  resulting  from willful  misconduct  of any member of the Insured’s household, friends or employees employed by the Insured, or other parties with an interest provided however that this shall not apply in the case where such act was made in the absence of any intention to benefit the Insured by the claim.
  9. In case of the subject-matter of insurance being processed (excluding repairs) loss or damage happened after the processing has begun.
  10. The Company shall not indemnify the Insured, unless otherwise specifically agreed, against loss or damage caused by any lack of skill, carelessness in the case where the subject-matter of Insurance is under repair, cleaning or other similar work provided however that this shall not apply in the case when fire (excluding scorching loss or damage) has happened in consequence of the aforesaid process.
  11. Loss or damage caused by electrical short-circuit or spark discharge overcharged electric current, any other electric phenomenon or machinery breakdown provided however that this shall not apply in the case where the fire (excluding scorching loss or damage) has happened through the aforesaid incidents, or where these incidents have happened in consequence of the fortuitous and external incidents.
  12. Loss or damage to the subject-matter of insurance caused by fraud or seizure.
  13. Loss or damage to the subject-matter of insurance caused by forgetting or disappearance.

Special exclusions

  1. Pre-existing error or defect.
  2. Damage guaranteed by product warranty.
  3. Exclude damage during shipment by third-party shipments.

FAQ

1. Why do I need Furniture Protection?

Because the warranty service only protects the manufacturer's faults/defects. Many damages end up not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

2. What is Furniture Protection?

Insurance Coverage for any loss or damage to the Insured Property caused by all unintentional accidents and/or during the self-assembly process. According to the standard wording of MPAR Insurance (Moveable Property All Risk) this includes; Loss/Burglary, Accidental Damage, Natural Disaster (Flood, Water Damage, etc) and RSCC (Riot, Strike, Civil Commotion).

3. How much of the Furniture Protection benefit do I get?

As per charge based on the value of items purchased online or offline with a maximum sum insured of Rp100.000.000.

4. How long does the Furniture Protection Insurance cover that I get?

There are 2 coverage period options, 12 Months and 24 Months.

5. What furniture can be equipped with Furniture Protection?

Bed frames, Rocking chairs, Wardrobes, Reclining chairs, Dressing tables, Cabinet, Bedside tables, Dining tables, Mattresses, Dining chairs, Standing mirrors, Kitchen set, Sofa Bed, Bar tables, Sofa, Bar stools, Child protection, Drying racks, Table, Office chairs, TV Cabinet, Office tables, Chairs.

1. Can I cancel the Insurance?

Cancellations can only be made if accompanied by a return of goods that has been validated/verified and approved by IKEA that the goods can be canceled. You request this by contacting IKEA Customer Service. If it is only related to the cancellation of the Furniture Protection without the return of goods, then the Furniture Protection cannot be canceled (non-refundable).

1. How to claim?

Customers can go to this page and then log in using the mobile number registered at the time of purchasing the furniture no later than 5 (five) working days after the loss/damage occurrence. Customers can then choose the benefit they would like to claim and submit the required claims document accordingly.

2. How much is the value of claim reimbursement?

Loss of Insured Object due to robbery
Up to the purchase price of the Insured Object, with a maximum limit of Rp100.000.000 for the purchase price of the Object Insured.

Total physical damage/disability of the Insured Object due to accident/unwanted event such as natural disasters (floods, water damage) and riots, strikes and cause the insured object to no longer function
Up to the purchase price of the Insured Object, with a maximum limit of Rp100.000.000 for the purchase price of the Insured Object.

Partial Insured Damage/disability of the Insured Object due to accident/unwanted event and causing disturbance to the main function of the Insured Object
Covers partial damage with an accumulated limit (according to the repair invoice) up to the purchase price of the Insured Object with a maximum limit of Rp. 100.000.000 for the purchase price of the Insured Object.

Damage due to Self-Assembly which causes total damage or the Object of the Insured is no longer functioning accordingly
40% of the price of the Insured Object.

3. How to handle customer claims if the policy has not been formed?

Customers can reach PasarPolis Contact Center to report claims via email/WhatsApp/phone call.

4. How long does it take to receive a Furniture Protection benefit claim?

Payment will be received no later than 7 working days after claim documents are complete and claim approval is approved.

1. Can Insurance be transferred if the item is sold?

The insurance is not transferable.
